Beeswax is a unique natural product and it has numerous applications. These may vary from lip balms and candles to eco-friendly plastic–free food wraps. Beeswax is non-toxic and safe to use!

Beeswax is:

100% natural product

Coming from the honeycomb of the honeybee, beeswax is a natural substance gifted to us by Mother Nature herself. Bees feed on honey and pollen to produce beeswax. They need around eight kilograms of honey to produce every single kilogram of wax.

Antifungal and Antibacterial Properties

Similarly to honey, beeswax has antibacterial properties helping keep wounds clean and reducing the risk of contamination. This makes it a common ingredient in the treatment of skin problems, skin ointments, etc. Also, beeswax is believed to possess antifungal properties preventing yeast growth and other fungus.

Beeswax is Edible!

Although it is not rich in nutrients, beeswax is non-toxic and safe to swallow. That is why it is a preferred lip balm ingredient.

Beeswax Cleans the Air

In contrast to the candles made from other wax types, beeswax candles burn brighter and cleaner as they produce negative ions which are known to help clean the air. Apart from that, beeswax smells amazing when burned without any added chemicals or scents due to its natural honey and floral nectar fragrance found in the honeycomb.

Waterproof

Beeswax has been used throughout history as a sealant and waterproof agent for various items such as belts, tents, and shoes. By rubbing beeswax onto any surface such as leather or canvas and then heating it, the wax penetrates into the fabric/leather thus repelling water.

Natural Moisturizer

A common ingredient in lotions, soaps and conditioners, beeswax boosts moisture retention, ensuring an excellent skin, lips or hair protection against drying.

Propolis in Beeswax

Beeswax contains a natural and powerful protective substance called propolis, which prevents beeswax from going bad. Produced by honeybees by mixing tree resin, wax and flower pollen, propolis is used in the construction and repair of the hive and at the same time as an antiseptic barrier. Propolis comes from Greek and means "protection of the City". The antibacterial and antifungal properties of beeswax are so strong that intact beeswax has been found in ancient graves. However, if a commercial or home-made product contains beeswax but also other ingredients, it might still go bad.

Beeswax and its Beneficial Properties

With so many beneficial properties, beeswax is a healthy and safe alternative to the food storage containers. Beeswax wraps use the natural power of beeswax to protect and store your food in a safe way opposed to the plastic packaging solutions. Since beeswax is also waterproof, it prevents your food from getting wet and soggy but at the same time it locks in natural moisture preserving its flavour and freshness. Meanwhile, its antibacterial and antifungal properties keep bacteria and germs away and the fact that it is all-natural and non-toxic means that it is safe for food contact unlike the chemicals found in plastics.
